Retrospective Analysis of Memory, Figment and Nostalgia
GROUP SHOW
Dec 18, 2024 - Jan 18, 2025
Memory is a fragile archive- that weaves threads of reality with imagined figments and traces of nostalgia. Through an analysis of how memory and our perceptions of the past shape our identities, this exhibition encompasses the expressive works of Madhav Vyas, Ekta Singhabb, and Mansoor N. Mansoori. Each artist portrays a different relationship between the real and the imaginary.
Madhav Vyas explores the transitory nature of memory, using layered textures and muted tones to echo the fading of memory in time. Ekta Singha’s vivid, dreamlike compositions connect the tangible and the surreal. Rooted in personal and collective histories, her works reflect the power of nostalgia with vibrant palettes and organic forms. She envisions memory as a transformative form. Mansoor N. Mansoori’s work demonstrates how memories are reframed and reinterpreted through the years. His paintings illustrate dark, empty, and controlled landscapes, metaphorically suggesting an intimate reflection of the inner self.
Together, the works in this exhibition create a poetic dialogue about memory’s nature—what we remember, what we piece together, and what we’re bound to lose.
