Madhurjya Dey
(b. 1996)
Madhurjya (born in Assam, lives and works in Goa, India) has completed his graduation and post-graduation from the Department of Painting, MSU of Baroda. He works across various disciplines and mediums – narrative storytelling: fictional and autobiographical accounts, with oil paintings, experimental sculptures, sound design, and Html games.
He participated in several workshops and groups exhibitions both online/offline – From Zero to Hundred Curated by HH Art Spaces, 2023; Surface Encounters and Strange Beings, curated by Nikhil Chopra and HH Art Spaces, 2022; ‘STATES OF DISARRAY: PRACTICE AS RESTITUTION’, curated by Vasudha Thozhur, 4th Edition of Student’s Biennale, 2021; ‘NO GOGGLES FOR EARTHRISE: TENTACULAR DISPOSITIONS, DELICATE REVOLUTIONS’ a workshop by Mochu, 2021; KHOJ Peers Share, 2021; The Shepard Tone, a hyperlinked fictional narrative realized within the frameworks of Five Million Incidents, conceived by the Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan in collaboration with Raqs Media Collective, 2020; TERRA-INCOGNITA, an online group exhibition held at www.knuk.com, curated by Adwait Singh (2019); IN-MAKING, a group exhibition, Exhibition Hall, Faculty of Fine Arts, MSU Baroda, 2018; Digital workshop with Aziz Sharafi, 2016; Miniature workshop with Gopa Trivedi, 2015.
He is also a recipient of Jeram Patel Award, Degree Show, MSU Baroda(2018); KHOJ Artist Support Grant – 2020 and FICA Emerging Artist Award (EAA+) 2022.
