Latika Nehra is a visual artist and sculptor based in Berlin, Germany, working predominantly with ceramics. Her work explores the dialectics of nature, focusing on the intersection of the natural and the artificial, the given and the created. She employs some of the oldest hand-building techniques, aiming to bring the tangible back into focus in a hyper-virtual world. Her practice delves into the conceptual dialectic between the accidental and the intentional, and the naturalization of the artificial.
She completed her Bachelor of Design from the National Institute of Design (NID), Gujarat, India (2014); her Master’s in Integrated Design from Anhalt University, Dessau, Germany (2017), and her Humanities & Fine Art studies at Mayo College Girls School, Rajasthan, India (2009).
Her solo exhibitions include ‘Blue is the Warmest Color’ at Onna House Gallery, Palm Beach, Florida (2024); ‘In Clay Musical at Upstairs’ at the Gatehouse, London, UK (2024); and ‘After Origin at Round Them Oranges’, Jaipur, India (2021). Her group exhibitions include ‘How Well You Walk Through the Fire’ at Obey Art Space, Berlin, Germany (2023); ‘The White Room’ at Nella Beljan Gallery, Berlin, Germany (2023); ‘Remote Life’ at Cultivate Art Global, Mumbai, India (2022); and ‘Sculptural Connections at Room Capacity’, Berlin, Germany (2021).
