Divya Singh

Divya Singh is a visual artist from New Delhi, India, born in 1995. Her work is predominantly based in painting, and it tackles themes such as isolation, experience, memory, and mortality, all of which stem from a poetic engagement with Time. As a practitioner, Divya continues to experiment with new mediums like photography, writing, cinema, and painting, which have become key categories of both work and interest. These diverse aspects come together inside her work, most notably in the artist books she creates, as well as in found imagery that complements the paintings and other media during exhibitions.
Singh had her first Solo in 2021 with Shrine Empire Gallery (Notes for Tomorrow) and has participated in many group shows and art fairs, nationally and internationally including Artissima International Fair of Contemporary Art, Turin, Italy (2021) Delhi Contemporary Art Week at Bikaner House, New Delhi (2021,22, 23) India Art Fair, New Delhi (2022-23), ART Mumbai 2023, Mumbai and ‘Limitrophy’ by Foreign Objekt+Posthuman Art Network(2021). She is a recipient of the Space 118 Fine Art Grant (2021) and was awarded the “Young Artist of the Year Award‟ (2022) as part of the first edition of HELLO! India Magazine‟s ‘India Art Awards’. Singh was a resident with Foreign Objekt’s (Online) Posthuman Lab (Artist Research Residents 2022) Her Projects engage with matters concerning Decolonial Imagination, The Matrixial, Ethics and Spirituality. Two of her Posthuman Visual Art Projects as part of her artistic research are: Tachyon (2021) and Terminarch/Ender (2022-Ongoing) available for viewing on the Posthuman Art Network website and platforms.
