D Priyanka
(b. 1978)
D. Priyanka received her M.F.A in Visual Arts from College of Art, New Delhi 2017. Priyanka was recipient of Emerging Artist Award from Prafulla Dahnuker Art Foundation in 2017 and 2015. Her work was part of ‘The Falling Leaf: On Entropic Currents’ at Latitude 28, New Delhi. She was the part of Kochi-Muziris Students Biennale 2016-17, Pune Biennale 2017, Medina Cathedral Contemporary Art Biennale, Malta 2015 and Florence Biennale 2015. She was Artist-in-Residence at Piramal artist Residency 2017, Gallery Residence – pre biennale 2016, Fusion International artist residency 2015 among others.
Her current work involves the research and lab work in microorganisms and Quantum Theory of Particles Physics. Taking influence from her father and husband, her work meditates upon the flavor of micro to macro universe, focusing on the Particles Physics which considers the notion of time, space and gravity to understand what constructs the universe while being invisible to the naked eye. The most recent project explores the hibernated relation of reality and imagined. While keeping her work under the umbrella term of experimental artist she uses various media like – Installation, Land Art, Video Art, print, large scale Drawings, Kirigami, sculpture and painting.
